Safari World Bangkok: Tickets, Combo Deals & What to Expect

Safari World is Bangkok’s most popular full-day family attraction, combining a drive-through wildlife safari with Marine Park - an indoor and outdoor complex of shows, animal encounters, and rides. It sits about 30 km northeast of central Bangkok, well outside the BTS network, which means it requires a bit more planning than most city attractions. Here is what to know before you go.

Tickets and prices

Safari World sells three ticket options as of 2026:

Children under 3 enter free. The combo is almost always the better deal if you plan to spend a full day. Online prices through Tiqets and other platforms are typically 10–20% below walk-up rates.

The Safari Park drive-through

The safari loop covers approximately 7 km and takes 45–60 minutes by Safari Bus. Animals roam freely in large enclosures - which means sightings depend partly on timing and luck - but the route reliably produces:

• Giraffes at close range; the buses pause for feeding encounters
• White lions and African lions in separate enclosures
• Cheetahs, striped hyenas, and bears in individual zones
• Camels, zebras, and various antelope in open grassland sections
• Orangutans on a dedicated island enclosure

The Safari Bus is the standard way to see the route. You can also drive through in a personal vehicle, but the bus stops more frequently at animal zones and the overhead open-roof gives better photos than a car window.

Morning is best for active animals - by midday in hot weather, large cats in particular rest in shade.

Marine Park shows and schedule

Marine Park runs a lineup of shows that change seasonally, but typically includes:

• Hollywood Cowboy Stunt Show - 4WD stunts and pyrotechnics
• Sea Lion Show - trained sea lion comedy acts
• Orangutan Boxing Show - a Bangkok institution that some visitors find endearing, others find ethically questionable; we leave that judgement to you
• Dinosaur Planet - animatronic walk-through for younger children
• Shooting Star Birds Show - free-flight bird display

Shows run on fixed daily timetables (typically starting from 10:00 with shows every 1–2 hours). Pick up the show schedule at the Marine Park entrance on arrival, or check the Safari World app. Missing a show because of bad planning is easy - getting the schedule early saves the day.

How to get there

By taxi or Grab: The most practical option from central Bangkok. From Sukhumvit, expect approximately ฿200–300 by Grab (45–60 minutes). From the Old Town or riverside, ฿250–350. Traffic on Sukhumvit going northeast is heavy in the morning - book the ride early or take a shorter connecting BTS trip first.

By official Safari World shuttle: Shuttle buses depart from several central Bangkok hotels and pickup points. Check the current schedule on the Safari World website - pickup times and locations change seasonally. The shuttle option simplifies logistics and is included in some booking packages.

By BTS + taxi: Take the Sukhumvit Line north to Mo Chit (N8) or Lat Phrao stations, then continue by taxi or Grab for approximately 20–25 minutes. This splits the Bangkok traffic problem and reduces taxi fare.

There is no direct public bus service worth recommending - the combination of journey time and transfers makes private transport the right call.

Tips and planning advice

Arrive early. Gates open at 09:00 and the safari loop is most productive in the first two hours when animals are active. Some first Marine Park shows start at 10:00 - arriving at opening gives you the safari loop first, then shows.

Book in advance online. Walk-up queues at the ticket booth can be 20–30 minutes on busy weekends. Online booking through Tiqets or Klook lets you choose entry time and skips the ticket line.

Bring sun protection. The safari buses are open-top. A hat, sunscreen, and water are essential - the route has limited shade.

Budget for food inside. The food courts and restaurants at Marine Park are priced at theme park rates (approximately ฿150–350 per main dish). You can bring snacks; full meals inside are convenient but not cheap.

Weekends and school holidays are significantly busier. Weekday visits are noticeably quieter.

Opening hours

Daily 09:00–17:00 (last entry approximately 15:00 for the safari loop) as of 2026. Confirm on the official website before visiting, particularly on Thai public holidays.
