Who we are

Thailand beyond the trail

Thailand gets more international visitors than almost any country in Southeast Asia, yet most online guides funnel everyone toward the same route: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, islands, done. There is nothing wrong with that itinerary — but Thailand has far more to offer, and we think the coverage should reflect that.

The Thailand Guides exists to give equal weight to every region. We write about Koh Lanta and Koh Lipe with the same care as Phuket. We cover Chiang Rai, Pai, and the Isan plateau alongside Bangkok's canal-side neighbourhoods. Our island guides distinguish between party islands, family-friendly options, and dive-focused destinations — because knowing which island suits your trip matters more than a generic "best islands" list.

What drives the content

Everything published here comes from time spent in the places we write about. We use local transport, eat at the same stalls and restaurants we recommend, and revisit destinations to keep information current. When a ferry schedule changes or a restaurant closes, we update the guide.

We write as "we" — a collective voice built from genuine experience across Thailand's regions, not a single trip diary.

Revenue and independence

The Thailand Guides is independently run. We are not backed by a tourism board or hotel chain. The site is funded in part through affiliate links: if you book a tour or activity through one of our links, we earn a small commission at no added cost to you. We never recommend something solely because it pays a commission.
