The glass tray - what to expect
The glass tray is the headline feature. It is a recessed section of the outdoor deck with a transparent floor, giving an unobstructed view 300 metres straight down to Sathorn Road below. You step onto it, you look down, and Bangkok traffic looks like toy cars. Most people find it exhilarating rather than terrifying - the glass is thick structural safety glass, not a novelty - but anyone with a serious fear of heights may want to skip it.

The rooftop bar
The 77th floor hosts The Bar at Mahanakhon, which operates in the evenings (roughly 17:00–midnight, verify current hours before visiting). Entry to the bar requires a paid observation deck ticket or a minimum spend.
Cocktails run approximately ฿400–700, beers from ฿300. Sunset is the peak crowd time - arrive by 17:30 if you want a seat facing west. The bar gets busy on weekends and with private events; on quiet weeknights it is genuinely relaxed and the views from table level are better than you expect.

Getting there
By BTS Skytrain: The fastest option. Take the Silom Line to Chong Nonsi station (S3), exit 3. King Power Mahanakhon is a 5-minute walk south along Narathiwas Road. The building’s distinctive pixelated facade is visible from the station.
By MRT: The nearest MRT stop is Lumphini on the Blue Line, about a 15-minute walk. BTS is quicker.
By taxi: Tell the driver “King Power Mahanakhon” - every driver in Bangkok knows it. From Siam, expect approximately ฿80–120 depending on traffic. From Sukhumvit Soi 11, approximately ฿120–160.
By tuk-tuk: Possible from the riverside or Silom area for roughly ฿100–150 for a short hop, but BTS is faster and cooler.
Skip-the-line tips

- Arrive at opening (10:00) for the clearest daytime visibility and minimum crowds
