Indonesian carrier TransNusa Airlines has confirmed it will launch four-times-weekly direct flights between Denpasar (Bali) and Phuket International Airport on 9 September 2026, offering the first scheduled nonstop service between the two destinations.

Why This Matters for Phuket Visitors
Until now, travellers combining Bali and Phuket in the same trip had to connect through Jakarta or Bangkok, typically adding four to eight hours of transit. The new service brings flying time down to around three hours, making a Bali-to-Phuket leg genuinely practical within a two-week Southeast Asia itinerary.
The route also matters for Australian travellers, who make up a significant share of Bali’s visitor numbers. An increasing number already combine an Indonesia trip with time on Phuket and the rest of Thailand’s Andaman coast.
What to Plan For
The flight lands mid-morning, which suits travellers wanting a full day in Phuket on arrival. The return departs early afternoon, allowing a morning in Phuket before heading back to Bali.
TransNusa is also separately operating four-weekly services between Jakarta and Bangkok from 6 August 2026, a second new Indonesia–Thailand corridor that adds roughly 2,500 inbound seats per week to the Bangkok market.
For travellers planning a longer trip across the region, the Phuket flight pairs well with either a short domestic hop to Krabi or Koh Samui or a longer overland route northward through Khao Lak and beyond.
