Hua Hin is Thailand’s original beach resort — the royal family has maintained a summer palace here since the 1920s, and the town has an established resort infrastructure that most Thai beach destinations developed later. Hotels range from colonial-era grand properties to modern beachfront resorts to budget guesthouses near the night market.
Flagship and luxury properties
Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas Hua Hin is Hua Hin’s landmark hotel — the original Railway Hotel, built in 1923 in colonial-era style on the main beach. The older colonial section has the most character; the newer villas section has better facilities. Multiple pools, multiple restaurants, a full spa. Rates approximately ฿5,500–10,000/night as of 2026. The most historically significant hotel stay in Thailand outside Bangkok.
Rosewood Hua Hin is the town’s current highest-rated luxury property — a 70-room beachfront hotel with a genuine boutique feel, exceptional spa, and a restaurant consistently listed among Thailand’s best. Rates from approximately ฿10,000–25,000/night.
Aleenta Resort and Spa is 15km north of Hua Hin at Pranburi — a small luxury resort on a quiet beach section with villas and a strong wellness programme. Rates approximately ฿8,000–20,000/night. Better for a retreat than a town-centred visit.
Chiva-Som International Health Resort is Hua Hin’s most famous wellness destination — a dedicated health resort with comprehensive wellness programmes (minimum stay packages start around ฿80,000+ per person). Worth noting even if it’s outside most budgets.
Mid-range and good value
Anantara Hua Hin Resort is a large beachfront resort with one of Hua Hin’s better pools — a free-form landscape pool set in tropical gardens. Multiple restaurants, a spa, good family facilities. Rates approximately ฿4,000–7,500/night.
Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa is centrally located near the night market — good beach access, large rooms, reliable service. Better for town-oriented visits than remote beach relaxation. Rates approximately ฿3,500–6,000/night.
Amari Hua Hin is a well-maintained mid-range resort with a pool, sea view rooms, and a consistent reputation for value. Rates approximately ฿2,500–4,500/night.
The Barai at Hyatt Regency Hua Hin is a spa hotel attached to the Hyatt property — worth noting specifically for visitors whose primary interest is the wellness offering. Rates approximately ฿4,500–8,000/night.
Budget and guesthouse options
Baan Talay Hostel near the beach is one of the better-reviewed budget options — a family-run guesthouse with clean rooms, a small courtyard, and genuine hospitality. Rates approximately ฿700–1,200.
My House Hua Hin and similar guesthouses on the sois near Dechanuchit Road offer rooms from ฿600–1,000. No pools but within walking distance of the night market and beach.
All Nations on Dechanuchit Road is the area’s established backpacker bar and guesthouse — dorms from ฿350, private rooms from ฿700. The social area is a good place to meet other travellers.
Staying north of town
The beach at Cha-am (25km north) and the resorts between Hua Hin and Pranburi (south) tend to be lower-priced than equivalent properties in the town centre. The trade-off is that you need transport for the night market and the best seafood restaurants. For visitors prioritising beach time over town access, the north and south options often provide better value.
